The Background to 'Hope'
'Hope' is intended to provide churches of all shapes and sizes throughout the UK with a fresh opportunity to work together across their communities over a twelve month period. Prayer is a vital part of 'Hope2008'. We want prayer to be at the heart of everything that we do, and believe that if we stand together and pray we will see far greater and lasting change.
Spalding Churches Together presented HOPEFEST - a highly successful free Family Fun Day in Spalding's Sir Halley Stewart Field on Saturday 7 June 2008. There was lots of music including the live band ‘Make Jesus Known’, RAP, DJ, dance, bouncy castles, games, Face Painting, rounders tournaments and burgers. Regular Prayer Meetings will be held on the first day of each month throughout 2008 - except in June, when we are asked to pray during Sunday worship for all Hope activities already taking place or planned in Spalding and district.
Everyone is invited to come along to these prayer meetings which are held from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Either stay for a few minutes or for the full hour. Pray in silence or share your prayer aloud. God hears our prayers either way:
